Saturday, January 30 9:41 🏂 Ski Crew Sam is talking… Break in

How it works

  1. Create a group

Pick a name and an emoji. No account, email or phone number: Breaker makes a key on your phone instead.

  2. Show the QR

Your crew scans it with the iPhone Camera and they're in. Not together? Send the link, or read out the 10-character code.

  3. Break in

Press, talk, let go. Over. Everyone tuned in hears you live, even with their phone locked in a pocket.

Built for crews on the move

Ski and snowboard groups

“Where are you?” “Top of the Express chair. Over.”

  • Answer from the Lock Screen, gloves on, phone in your pocket.
  • Regroup at the lodge without calling round one by one.
  • Split into fast and slow groups and stay in touch.

Friends and families travelling

“Meet at the fountain in ten.” “Copy that.”

  • Theme parks, cruise ships, festivals and road-trip convoys.
  • No numbers to swap: people join by QR and leave when the trip ends.
  • Works on mobile data or Wi-Fi, wherever you have a connection.

Pricing

Free

$0

  • Groups of up to 5 people
  • Talk from the Lock Screen
  • No account, phone number or email

Prices are in US dollars; the App Store shows your local price. Group Pass is billed by Apple and can be cancelled any time in your Apple account settings. Later on, the free plan may get a daily talk-time allowance that anyone in the group can top up by choosing to watch an ad.

Breaker is for adults. Everyone in a group must be 18 or older. The app checks your age the first time you open it.

FAQ

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up, email, phone number or password. Breaker creates a key on your device, and you choose a display name and an emoji. Get a new iPhone on the same Apple ID and your account comes with you.

Does it work when my phone is locked?

Yes. On iPhone, Breaker uses Apple's push-to-talk system, so you can hear your group and talk back from the Lock Screen without opening the app.

Does it need signal?

Yes. Breaker sends your voice over the internet, so it needs mobile data or Wi-Fi. It isn't a radio and won't work where your phone has no connection.

Is my voice recorded?

No. Audio is relayed live to your group and never stored on our servers. The one exception: if you report someone, you can choose to attach the last clip you received from them, and we keep it for 90 days to review the report.

Who can join my group?

Only people you give the QR code, link or code to. There are no public channels. Invites expire after 7 days by default, and you can revoke an invite or remove someone at any time.

How many people can be in a group?

Up to 5 on the free plan, and up to 25 when the host has a Group Pass.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. Android is planned for 2027, and groups will work across iPhone and Android.

Where can I get Breaker?

At launch, in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Can I use it in an emergency?

Don't rely on it. Breaker isn't an emergency service and can't call 911, 000, 111 or 112. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Why “Breaker”?

On CB radio, you start a call with “Breaker breaker”. You break in, say your piece and finish with “Over”. Your crew answers “Copy” or “10-4”.
